New Hope, Ink, 10×10 – by Ellen M Pellet

Ellen Pellett developed her artistic skills later in life.  She has an Associates of Arts degree from Endicott College and attended Lesley College (now part of Radcliff College) in Boston, MA where she studies Art History.  She later graduated from Niagara University, Institute of Hospitality, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.  She pursued her professional career in Restaurant Management with positions at Walt Disney World, the Radisson Hotel, and Landry’s Restaurants.

After being furloughed at her restaurant job at the onset of the Pandemic, and with little hope of returning to the Restaurant Industry, she energized her talents of photography and abstract design to both relieve her anxiety and pursue a new career field.  Since the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic, she has been unemployed, but has spent her time to build her repertoire and has received several commissions for decorative abstract paintings.  Over the past seven years, she has had three showings at City Arts Gallery in downtown Orlando and numerous sidewalk art shows in Lake Mary, Baldwin Park, and Thornton Park.  She has come to learn that being an Artist as a profession is not easy, however finds great satisfaction when someone really appreciates your artistic message enough to buy your work.  Her specialty is inked line drawings and mixed media abstract paintings.
