Mär Martinez is an interdisciplinary artist specializing in sculptural painting. Her work dissects dominance, aggression and power dynamics through the lens of a culturally-enforced binary system. She received a BFA in Painting and a BA in Art History at the University of Central Florida. She is the current recipient of the 2024-2025 Fulbright Open Research Award in the Arts.

Martinez has received many fellowships and attended residencies around the world. Recent and upcoming solo exhibitions include: unraveling, FL, Handwoven Histories, GA, Warring Factions, SC, Holding Myself Close, FL, Tension Point, FL, Push Comes to Shove, FL, FRACTURE, FL, andIllusions of Safety, PA. 2024 – 2025 awards and recognition include: Halo Arts Fellowship, United Arts Community Project Grant, South Arts Individual Artist Grant, and the Hemera Foundation Contemplative Practice Artist Grant.
