Denise Benou Stires is a senior marketing and communications executive with over 25 years of experience leading public, private, and non-profit entities to long term value creation. Best known for her ground-breaking work as Chief Marketing Officer at NASDAQ and President of NASDAQ Financial Products, Ms. Stires’s career offers a demonstrated track record of transforming businesses across multiple sectors, navigating complex and dynamic competitive environments, and leading the development of innovative strategies to deliver profitable growth.  Her accomplishments have been described as masterclasses in effective marketing and organizational leadership, from forging the most successful worldwide sponsorship in the history of Mars Incorporated, to conveying the brand power of a major investment bank into the online sphere, to spearheading the marketing initiatives that pulled NASDAQ out of crisis, saving the institution and propelling it into the most successful period in its history. Her works have won major industry awards and several are now studied as cases at preeminent business schools.

Ms. Stires is Senior Partner of Lamington Partners, a CEO-level management consultancy focused on bottom-line-driven marketing strategy and solutions. She advises clients on issues ranging from brand positioning and strategy to internal/external communication, government regulation, corporate governance, and public relations. Per client requests, Ms. Stires has served as executive-in-residence in the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. Past and current clients include leading financial institutions such as American Express and Fannie Mae, foreign government agencies such as China’s Ministry of Education, China’s Ministry of Sport, and the Bermuda Monetary Authority, as well as companies in areas ranging from education, government procurement, medical devices, to consumer products. Her engagement with nonprofit The Sisters Fund led to the accelerated success of their “Women Moving Millions” campaign on behalf of disadvantaged women and girls, achieving its fundraising target in less than half the anticipated time due to Ms. Stires’s messaging strategy. Across a range of industries, Ms. Stires is known for her ability to reframe challenges and identify competitive advantages for both mature and emerging enterprises.

Ms. Stires is a frequent lecturer on the “Power of Brand to Drive Business Growth” at Yale, Notre Dame, Rutgers and American University. She received an M.B.A. from Yale University and a B.A. from Wellesley College.
