SUMMARY:ARGUMENT OF TIME
DESCRIPTION:ARGUMENT OF TIME\nVisit to an Extinct City\n“Visit to an Extinct City” holds a fresh\, personal lens to a seldom-seen\, venerable ghost-town and archaeological site. It casts a rueful glance at the folly and profundity of ‘historical reconstruction’ – it raises an eyebrow towards guidebooks\, tourism and what we think we do when we travel abroad – and with both hands\, unexpectedly\, it bestows us with a kind of metaphysical vademecum.”                                                                            \nJoanne M. The 2027 Halo Arts Project exhibition will feature art that traces the contours of a future still being formed. The imagination bends reality and each work becomes a prophecy of what we are becoming or perhaps where we are headed. \nRather than offering certainty\, the exhibition embraces interpretation. The future is presented not as a destination\, but as an active process shaped by human hands\, systems\, desires\, and imagination itself. Through painting\, sculpture\, installation\, photography\, textile\, and interdisciplinary practices\, artists become architects of possibility\, translating aspirations into tangible form. \nArtists are invited to submit paintings\, prints\, archival photography\, small sculptures\, and mixed media works that explores beauty through many lenses. The exhibition celebrates varied expression and aesthetic appreciation.  Join us in creating a captivating aura that goes beyond what meets the eye. Explore the mirror of this powerful social construct that reflects and shapes a society’s values\, fears\, and aspirations.  \n \n \nMARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR JANUARY 2027\nAngles For Artists Live & Online Art Auction: Sunday\, January 24\, 2027\nLocation: Waterworks SRQ \nAngels for Artists raises funds and exists to provide financial resources and programming support to Visual Artists in Florida.  The Online and Live Art Auction is a fun-filled fundraising event\, and great way to add original artworks to your home or office art collection.  \n \n Read More About Angels For Artists\n \n \nARTISTS AND COLLECTORS!  \nInterested in donating a piece(s) of ART?\n \n Click Here To Learn How To Donate Artwork\n \n \nDays Left to Enter — Get Your Entry in by December 31\, 2026!\n Days Hours Minutes Seconds \nSign the front of your canvas and legibly print your name AND TITLE on the back. \nSpace is limited for this opportunity to get some great exposure and to help fund Halo Fellowship Awards for Visual Artists. \n \n \n \nCall For Artists Registration\nPlease fill out all of the information fields below and upload your artwork. SUMMARY:Àṣẹ: Seeing Spirit in Afro-Caribbean Art
DESCRIPTION:Now On Display — Halo Arts Project at John Sims Studio | Sarasota\nFor the first time in Sarasota\, a significant selection of Afro-Caribbean artworks from the Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African American Art will be on view to the public. The PFF Collection brings nearly 30 works by 23 artists to Halo Arts Project at the John Sims Studio in Sarasota\, creating a powerful dialogue between legacy\, identity\, history\, and contemporary expression. \nÀṣẹ (axe / asé / ashé) is a Yoruba concept that exists across the African Diaspora. It has a dual meaning: both a spiritual directive\, understood as “the power to make things happen\,” and a vital life force that flows through all living things. The works in this exhibition embody the spirit of àṣẹ through their depictions of divine figures\, stories of resilience\, and their illustration of the depth of cultural exchange between Caribbean and American artists. It marks a meaningful step forward in expanding the artistic narrative presented in Sarasota and deepening community engagement through access and education. \nFor a limited time\, special gallery hours will be posted\, and the public is invited to experience the exhibition free of charge—an open door to learning\, reflection\, and inspiration. \nThis is more than an exhibition. \nIt is a bridge between communities. \nAn affirmation that art belongs to everyone. \nDoors open to the public February – May 31\, 2026. Check the website for dates and hours at John Sims Studio for viewing the exhibit. \nJohn Sims Studio/Halo Arts Project Gallery1639 Tenth Street\,Sarasota\, Fl.\, 34236 \nWebsite: Haloartsproject.com \nPhone: (941) 313-2294 \nin**@*************ct.com
